The new construction project is a modern interpretation of the classic California Ranch House. The design takes full advantage of the small, wooded canyon site by visually expanding the interior living space to the garden and hillsides with walls of glass on the east and west elevations. The orientation of the south-facing second story roof allows for a solar panel array that provides all the electricity for the home with additional green strategies and materials incorporated throughout the project. All the surface finishes reflect the client’s preference for organic rustic materials.
