ARCHITECTURE

FORMA ARCHITECTS

Located adjacent to hiking trails along a mountain ridge, the design for the house responds to its environment through the creation of a pavilion in nature that embraces its unique setting through large glass openings, oversized skylights, several outdoor living areas, and exterior materials that flow seamlessly to the interior of the residence. The plan is extremely open and informal, with the Family Room serving as the predominant living space rather than the traditional Living Room. Custom-designed, frosted sliding glass doors invisibly pocket into adjacent walls, available to partition spaces as needed.

The clients’ desire to incorporate natural textures and colors throughout the home dictated the color palette for both the interior and exterior. The structure blends into its surroundings, providing expansive views of its natural setting while maintaining a sense of solitary placement within the landscape.
