Located on a busy suburban thoroughfare, the house turns its back to the street and encompasses its serene, sylvan setting by opening to the expansive backyard patio, pool and tennis court. The extensive renovation transformed a dated 1980s house into a striking contemporary residence while still maintaining the integrity of the original design – an open plan built around a central exterior atrium with landscaping, pond and waterfall. An outdoor living area was added to complement the pocket gardens accessible from each ground floor room and further extends the relationship between the interior rooms and the exterior space.

The interior design incorporates a selection of mid-century icons with many contemporary and custom-designed pieces woven throughout. The utilization of a muted color palette of browns and greens with the occasional burst of bold orange accents enhances the sense of living within a lush and serene but vibrant garden.
